Sally J. Curley, IRC, CEO

A trusted advisor to C-suite and Boards, Sally is Founder and CEO of Curley Global IR (CGIR), LLC, an Environmental-Social-Governance (ESG), Corporate Governance, and Investor Relations (IR) strategic advisory firm. With more than 30 years of business experience, Sally has worked for and represented leading companies in the building materials, electronic components, healthcare, retail, real estate and high-tech industries. Her expertise includes: building and leading IR, ESG, and governance outreach programs; creating strong governance as well as IR infrastructure for private-to-public transitions (traditional and non-traditional IPOs); business strategy consulting and planning; talent identification and development.

For nearly a decade, Sally served as Senior Vice President, Investor Relations for Cardinal Health, a Fortune 50 global healthcare company, where she oversaw worldwide IR and governance outreach efforts. She was a member of the company’s Global Leadership Team and its Disclosure Committee and, while there, co-founded and co-chaired the company’s first cross-functional committee responsible for assessing and advancing ESG initiatives. As a corporate Vice President for Genzyme Corp. (now Sanofi), Sally led global IR and advised the Nominating and Governance Board Committee on governance issues, including ESG trends. In both organizations, she grew the domestic and international shareholder base substantially.

A trusted advisor to private and public company directors, Sally is an Advisory Board Director for MOBILion Systems, Inc., a private life science tools and diagnostics company, and Chairs the Board of Human Health Project, a global NGO. Sally served on the Board for several non-profit organizations, including the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium where she chaired the Sustainability Committee and served on its Nominating and Governance Committee. Sally is an angel investor and serves on the Board of Ariel Savannah Angel Partners (ASAP), leveraging her experience in more than 50 M&A transactions to assess appropriate investments through deep due diligence.

Sally served on the National Investor Relations Institute’s (NIRI’s): Board of Directors, Senior Roundtable Steering Committee, as Boston Chapter President, and Ethics Committee. In 2013 she was inducted into NIRI’s inaugural Class of Fellows, “recognized leaders who represent the ideals of the investor relations profession.” She chaired the committee responsible for creating the NIRI Body of Knowledge the basis for IR Certification (IRC). A long-time member of the Society for Corporate Governance, Sally serves on its Sustainability Practices Committee.

Sally is a frequent presenter to the SEC on ESG, disclosure, IR and proxy reform, and has authored SEC Comment Letters on behalf of employers and clients. For eight years, she was named a top IR officer by Institutional Investor, and in 2012 was named a Treasury and Risk “30 Outstanding Women in Finance.” In 2019, she received a prestigious IR Magazine Lifetime Achievement award, an honor awarded by peers. Prior to becoming Adjunct Faculty at Georgetown University, Sally guest-lectured / taught at Harvard University, Boston University, Emerson College Graduate School of Communications and The Ohio State University, including developing healthcare industry coursework while there. She holds a B.A. from Colby College in Waterville, ME, an M.B.A. from Northeastern University in Boston, MA, and a Certificate of Biotechnical Education from Boston University Medical School.
